Lead Guide

Lead Guide

To get the most from your Jim’s Plus account, you need to understand how to win leads. Please read the below tips on how to increase your chance of securing leads through Jim’s Plus.

Adding services and suburbs

To receive leads you need to add services that you offer and suburbs that you service. On signup, you will have already have added these, if you would like to edit these see steps below.

How do I add a new service?

Login to Jim’s Plus and go to the Services page. select the '+Add Service' grey button. In the popup enter into the search bar the type of work you want to offer E.g. Dog wash. Select one or more services that you want to offer and select save.

How do I add a new suburb?

Login to Jim’s Plus and go to the Services page. Select the '+Add Suburb' grey button. In the popup, you can enter an address or suburb or click on the map to select your central location. You can move the slider below the map to determine the kilometer radius you want to service. Select one or more suburbs from the list that appears on the right of the page and then select save.

Red and Green Stripes

What do they mean? Next, to each service and suburb, you will see a red or green stripe. When your lead amount shows as red, you are not visible to customers. This is because your offer isn’t set at a high enough amount. It is recommended that you raise your offer to secure leads.

If your offer is showing as green, it means you are being displayed to customers looking for that service in that suburb. It is your aim to have all your listings showing as green

To be displayed, ensure your offer is high enough. To change your lead amount, click on the blue pen icon and choose the lowest amount offered in the field, then click save. Your listing will then show as green.

If you would like to pay a higher amount than what is offered in the boxes, then click the down arrow underneath the bid boxes and larger amounts will appear.

Bids go up in increments of $5 up to a value of $100.

You will be prompted to add a credit or debit card when you try to enter a bid more than $0. You cannot bid for leads without inputting your card details. Simply enter your card number, expiry, CVC and select 'Save'.

Jim’s Plus use a third-party payment portal called Stripe to process all payments. Stripe follows the strictest requirements for security in the industry so you can rest assured your details are completely secure.

When do I pay for my leads?

Immediately. Remember if you offer a service in an area where we don’t already have contractors, your first three leads will be free. Following this, we will contact you to see if you are happy to continue.  If so, we will enter your card details and update your bids from a $0 amount.  Your card will not be charged until this is done. Please ensure you have adequate funds in your account at all times to cover these amounts. If there is an issue with processing your lead fee, you won’t lose that lead, however, your account will be suspended from receiving further leads until you have updated your payment.

Who gets displayed to customers?

Jim’s Plus shows a maximum of four contractors to customers. Our system chooses the best person for the job based on star ratings, distance and the highest lead amounts offered. The customer can’t see your lead amount. The customer chooses the contractor based on their reviews, not on the amount they chose to pay for a lead.

Jim’s Plus only charges the lead fee to the one contractor selected by the customer. We DO NOT sell a lead to multiple contractors.

How do I get displayed to the customer?

By being one of the four highest bids offered. To ensure you are in the top four contractors that the customer sees, you need to be one of the four highest bids offered. You will know if you are being displayed if your services have green stripes next to them. If you have green stripes you do not need to increase your bid amount.

How much SHOULD I offer?

Lead fees vary depending on the service with prices starting from $5 per lead. You must offer the minimum amount but you are able to offer more than the minimum to ensure you are one of the four contractors shown to the customer. You will know if your bid amount is high enough to be one of the four contractors shown if they show as green. You do not need to bid a higher amount if your bids are already green.

How much CAN I offer?

That’s your choice, up to $100. You are given 5 price points when you select the bidding window. If you would like to offer more than this, select the drop-down menu below these amounts and choose any figure up to $100. Bids go up in increments of $5.

What do I pay when I win a lead?

That depends on the service you offer. There are different lead fees depending on the service – this is the fairest way for us to charge. You will know what your  lead fee is by clicking the BULK BID button on the Services page. The lowest amount offered as a choice is the price of your services lead. In the below example, the lead fee is $5.
