Updating your financials (NZ)

To be compliant with the Franchising Code of Practice you need to organise your financials and upload them into your disclosure document in FMS by 31 July 2018.
Financials required:
a) Financial Data Certificate (if you operated for the previous 2 financials years); or
b) Franchisor Certificate (if you did not operate for the full 2 previous financial years).
Advertising and Cooperative Funds
If you manage an advertising or a cooperative fund to which your franchisees are required to contribute to, you are required to prepare & provide a financial statement for the last financial year on each individual fund.
The financial statement must include:
a) Sources of income; and
b) Itemised expenses.
Please ensure you use the financial statement template provided as we will be checking to ensure Franchisors are compliant with your agreements and the manual.
The below listed templates are attached for your reference:
1) Financial Data Certificate;
2) Franchisor Certificate; and
3) Advertising Fund Statement.
Advertising fund statements must be emailed through to documents@jims.net for review. Once approved the national office will upload the financials into your disclosure document for you.
Note:
If your financials and disclosure document information is not fully up to date by 31 July 2018 the documents team will not process any requested documentation.
Also, if you have not provided sufficient financial statements for each individual fund you will be marked non-compliant until received.
